SAPIE joins the ranks of signatories of the Diversity Charter
On Thursday 30 November, SAPIE joined ranks of 31 companies, NGOs and public bodies that have committed to diversity promotion and signed the Diversity Charter. The Diversity Charter is a voluntary initiative supported by the European Commission, together with the European Platform for Diversity Charters, which promotes the dissemination and sharing of principles, good practice and experience in the field of diversity management in EU countries. In Slovakia, the Diversity Charter was launched by DIVERSITY PRO, which aims to promote diversity and inclusion in the LGBT workplace, together with a group of companies within the American Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, the role of Administrator of the Charter of Diversity Slovakia was taken over the Business Leaders Forum.
SAPIE as an industry body represents approximately 60 companies from fields related to technologies, ICT and applied R&D. These areas are rather homogenous with regards to diversity and inclusion in the top management structure as well as the employee base. Some of these companies have already developed diversity and inclusion strategies, but majority of them lacks strategy in this field. SAPIE understands the importance of joining the charter as a starting point for promoting the positive impact of diverse teams on productivity. We would also like to provide our member companies with practical information on how to build, manage and maintain diverse teams.
